Challenge:

When Makita were looking to create a gift with purchase (GWP) offering to consumers with the purchase of one of their power tools they came to Novelli.

Insights:

After pulling together everything we needed to know about our client including their positioning, target markets as well as their sales and marketing goals, we went on to design and deliver a range of creative items we knew would fit well with the brand and their products.

 
 

Customized Makita Sports Bag

Perfect for working on a building site, our Makita sports bag was designed specifically with ‘tradies’ in mind. The bag was fully customised – including a special shoe pocket – making it a truly unique product for Makita.

 
 

Bespoke Makita Drink Bottle

Working closely with our overseas factories, we designed several drink bottle prototypes that would go the distance on building sites. After various modifications, we produced a super-durable bottle with a carabiner clip for easy use and access on site.

Makita Colour Changing Mug

Yes, that’s right. We created a mug that changes colour when filled with tea or coffee. The mug - printed with the Makita logo - displays a full colour image of one of their drills once hot liquid is poured inside.

These mugs were a 'hot topic' in hundreds of smoko rooms and building sites across the country – and a fantastic way of increasing brand awareness and engagement for our client.


 

Results:

Due to the overwhelming positive feedback which came from Makita’s GWP offering, they continue to work closely with us on upcoming campaigns to ensure the return on investment from their promotional budget is maximised.
